Dear colleague Many of you were kind enough to complete our “Second Opinion” survey last year where we asked for your opinion on our service to and engagement with you.  As a Trustee of the Medical Scheme your input and guidance are crucial. Based on both the quantity and quality of the response we receive from yourself as well as our members and administrators we have decided to run this survey as an annual measurement tool. This input enables us to address queries and needs as well as track our performance in terms of service. It also helps us understand concerns with regard to the broader environment with regard to medical aid cover. Using the results of those surveys, the SABC Medical Scheme in 2025 was the first Medical Scheme ever in South Africa to be awarded an International Business Award - a GOLD TROPHY in 2024 (presented in Turkey) followed by TWO GOLD trophies in 2025 (presented in Lisbon) for Research and also Issues Management.  These were awarded by the IBA – the International Business Awards – also known as the Stevie Awards. More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry throughout the world were submitted in 2025 for consideration in a wide range of categories making this a remarkable achievement.
